March 29th is National Vietnam War Veterans Day. If ya know a Nam vet, call them or stop by and thank them. Or maybe go to your local Legion and buy them a drink. I personally want to thank all who served in Nam. Even though I was just a kid, you were all my hero's and always will be. You all have a special place in my heart. Thank you!!

The Pheasants Forever chapter I belong to holds a small pheasant hunt for Veterans each year .We usually only can host 2 to 4 veterans per year . A few years ago we had a former Marine that served in Vietnam . After the hunt was over he said it was the first time anyone had done anything for him as a Vietnam veteran .Sadly he has since passed away .I second what Catch 22 said All of you did what you where ask to do and for that many faced scorn when you returned .And many more did not return .Indeed you are hero's but you mostly never got the credit for it. I also say thanks to all of you

A very worthy post!

Lots of Viet Vets got poor treatment when returning and even after it wasn't until the Gulf conflicts that we were finally recognized .I enrolled in the local community college and the Teacher jumped me the first week and said we don't belong there .That we were just there to collect the money .That attitude was prevalent at the time among faculty . Lest we forget ! Many of the vets never lived to see their benefits ,Seems like it was a known fact what was going to happen to many and to save money hold off until they are gone . Does anyone else wonder why post traumatic stress was never truly diagnosed among Viet Vets

Thank you vets, my mom was named after her uncle who died in Vietnam.

Not out of line in my opinion Snowpa, thank you all for your service ! I remember all to well the nightly news reports of the dead and missing soldiers, may have only been a kid but remember too well !
