These knives are shop "users". Not meant to be carried or "display" knives. Fashioned from bandsaw sawmill blades so, yes, they do hold an edge. Scales of American black walnut, or fire-killed western juniper. Each knife individually handmade, so there are slight differences. These will last. Beautiful knives Gulo. I just might have to save my pennies to pick up one of each. And like has been mentioned, there are some of us who appreciate the old time look and simplicity of knives and other objects. After I close a couple of deals that I'm currently committed to I'll be contacting you.

One question that I've been dying to ask and have been too embarrassed to ask is, what is the difference between a pelter and a skinner and what are their different jobs?

TheBig1 - The pelters are the triangle blade. I use them for opening about everything. I use them exclusively for muskrats, mink, marten, skunks. The skinners are the drop-point. I use them for skinning out coyotes, red fox, bobcats, wolves and wolverine. I also use the skinners to gut and skin deer, elk, caribou, moose, pronghorn, bears. For me, 2 different knives for two different duties.

All I can say is that you are selling way too cheap! I charge twice that just to put a handle on a blade.
