Have one in 28 gauge. Shoots where pointed. Barrels on 28 g are extremely thin. Like you said you get what you pay. Only item I was very unhappy with are the triggers are really bad. But for what you want it should be fine. Mine is older and perhaps the trigger may be better on the newer ones or I got a bad set of triggers. Do kind of wish I spent the extra money and bought a CZ. Have you looked into fixing up those triggers? I do know I want something with two triggers... I've been warned that you can run into problems when trying to go the single trigger route on cheaper double guns. I hear a lot of folks saying that the jump to a CZ is worth it but a stoeger can be had for $400 and that jump to a CZ is a little bigger than I can justify.

I have a Stoeger Condor Supreme (O/U). I bought it new about seven years ago for my daughter to hunt with. It has turned into my go to gun for woodcock, grouse and rabbits. I like carrying it better than my expensive Remington O/U.
It's been 100% reliable so far. It's even had several thousand rounds shot through it at the trap range.
One thing I modified was the auto-safety; it would reset the safety to safe position every time the breech was opened. None of my other guns do that and I didn't want my daughter or anybody else relying on the gun to set the safety, that should be something you do and confirm yourself. Also, it is a pain in the butt when shooting trap.
Eh...wot?

Aren't they really heavy to you guys? 7.4lbs vs. 6lbs for the CZ.

I've only seen that gun at the SHOT show and have never shot one, but if you shoot 3" steel for ducks with your girlfriend, it'll wake her up for sure. 26" barrels will develop more "perceived recoil" and muzzle jump than 28", and that'll translate to her shoulder and cheek unless she gets a lot of time behind the gun before duck season. 28 inch may be a better choice. Good to know! She's a tough cookie but I figured a recoil pad would be a good purchase anyways for both of us. Anyone else have any experience with this gun specifically?
