The last 2 days we have had 2 different deer licking the bark on a maple tree in our yard. I'm assuming to get some sap. Anybody else ever see this or are these deer trend setters?

never seen deer but have seen squirrels cats and dogs lick at dripping sap from maples

Quite a few guys with tubing in the woods suffer from deer chews on their tubing.

A few years ago I had a bear yank out my taps and then chewed up the trees so much that some of them died, as did the bear. Eric
