Anybody own Sigsauer’s new P365 micro compact? I’ve been thinking about getting one for my wife and I am looking for opinions; good, bad or ugly.

Eh...wot?

don't know much about that one. (I think I did pick one up and compare to Ruger LCP II).

LCP II is smaller, thinner.

I've got one it's nice gun but a little hard to conceal for a fat guy, the wife carries it now in her purse. I'm currently carrying the P238 Legion, I find it a much smoother shooting gun.

My wife carries the P238, it sure is nice.

Lug I will say my wife does not enjoy shooting the 365 for what ever reason, so much so I notice a lot of pre-fire flinch when she is shooting it.

My wife bought me a Sig 938 in 9mm last year for my birthday. Cheap - nope, but as a guy who loves 1911's and can't haul them around everywhere this little gun is with me every day.
As far as recoil, I enjoy it and with a reasonable grip anyone should be able to shoot it well.
Also on recoil, I have always thought that a lot of flinch comes from muzzle blast, good hearing protection helps.

My 2 cents

Zim

I typically am not a fan of striker fired pistols.

But I’m in love with my 365. Accurate, nice shooting, fits my hand well. Points instinctively. And easy to conceal.

Bianchi makes a leather inside the waist band holster. I can carry mine between my belt and jeans or wear it inside my pocket clipped to the top edge of my pocket. long shirt covers both pretty well.

Another vote for the P238. I got a 7 round clip (1 xtra) vs. the 6 to let you put your pinkie finger on it for better control.

Need a “like” button for Zim’s comment. Good hearing protection will have kids shooting a .338 and never once complain.

I don't own one but I recently went to the range to try out an assortment of the micro 9's. All other arguments & personal decision factors aside, my observations:
(P365, Shield 2.0, LCR, 43, Kimber Micro 9, Beretta Nano)

After an intro shooting period with each I narrowed the list down to Shield, 43 & 365 by a 50rd each test
The M&P Shield was the most comfortable to shoot but I didn't like the added "height" due to hot summer carries
I shot the glock 43 & Sig p365 extremely well
The sig p365 had just a hairs less snappiness to my perception.
The sig factory mag couldn't fit my pinkie but the glock could (extension would fix)
I had a greater tendency with the sig to pull a shot during a quick sequence due to inexperience with it and grip
The factory sig sights blew the others out of the water. Acquisition was extremely instinctive.
All in all - I liked the Sig a lot. A little range time would fix most anything but out of the 6 it was the most likely for me to purchase, actually enjoy practice sessions with and confident enough in to carry.

I have one and it is way more enjoyable to shoot with the 12 round mag that gives you a bigger grip. Great sights, day or night. I got an inside the pants right side holster and it works very well. Here are a couple pics, one with the 10 round extended mag. and one with the 12 round mag.

i own a glock 42, and 43. I prefer both to the Sig. The sig is alot heavier, and to me, that just plain defeats the purpose of having a small gun to carry / conceal / and be convenient.

sure do sell alot of them though....

shoot some and decide for yourself. theres also the glock 43x, if you can find one.

I carried glocks for a long time. The last glock I used for concealed carry was the 43. I bought a sig 365 and haven't carried anything else since. For me it's more accurate than the 43 and with 12 round mags you get more shots and better grips. The 12 round mags are pricey, I had to order mine from sig. They come with factory installed night sights. My vote goes to the 365.

4-6 extra rounds will add weight for sure. Unloaded the 365 is only a touch over an ounce heavier than the 43.

Not to highjack, but anybody shot the Glock 43X or 48 yet? I bought a G19 a couple years ago before I moved to Germany and really liked it, although it was a little thick for IWB carry (I used to carry a 1911). I planned to buy a 43 when I moved back this summer but now I'm thinking a 43X or 48 would be a better choice, leaning toward the 43X. I'm also considering the Sig P365 based on some other handgun forums.
