For the first time in YEARS,I have more mushrooms than I can eat before they go bad. How long do you think they keep in the refrigerator in a bag, uncut and not in water? Is there any way to freeze them? Thanks in advance.

My wife has froze them. If I recall, she prepared them as usual. Then froze them individually on a cooking sheet before combining them.

Give them to friends and family. Or freeze them or dehydrate them.

My Mom, Grandmother , and Aunt would string the mushrooms and dry them. We picked bushels when growing up and they would keep all year.

Morels? If so, we just cut in half , clean and freeze on cookie sheet then bag them in freezer bags. Their good for 8- 9 months that way. One thing though, when you get them out, don't thaw them. Start cooking them while there still froze.

If keeping in the fridge uncut put in a paper grocery sack about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Well last couple weeks if layer wet paper towels with the shrooms. If cut in half an washed store in Tupperware an dump access water out every day an will last week's as well

String them with a needle and thread, then hang to dry.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....
