they will work but is way better beaver traps to use. i learnt to trap bev with #3 longs and had tons of misses. trap placement has to be dead on the spot.

I would rather use A #3 long than a coil for beaver.

ok thank you for the advice i was just wondering because i found a area with beaver chewings and i was debating whether to buy a number three or number 4 #4 is my trap size on all my drowner rods. Largest beaver I have caught in one is 62lbs and it was over the entire back foot and tight on her ankle I used #3 when I first started but the #4 is all I use now

I've caught a lot of beavers in #3 Northwoods coils. These are like the Bridger 3's and Duke 4's. I put JC Conner's Taos Lightning springs on them and they did the job. I prefer a larger trap though.

As long as the beaver isn't carrying mud they work well for a front foot hold.Good on the high side of a crossover.

I've caught a lot of beaver in #3 bridger coils. The jaw spread is as big as a #4 long and I have a bunch of the #3 coils already for coyote work so I use them. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
