As much as it hurts, I think that's better than him being gone and not missing him at all. My mom passed away two years ago a couple days from now and I feel the same way. Love is sure bittersweet. Happy trapping! ScottW

My Dad died in 1967 due to a drunk driver. it still hurts. I often think of the wise things he had to say, and his uncanny way of knowing where his boys were at. (no phone or internet on the farm). one example my brothers had taken the family car to take my brother to work. I dropped my two brothers off and picked up some friends. I was showing off how hot the car was and did a "burn out if 165 feet". the next morning when dad came in from the barn he said " Ron the car needs some new tires huh." I said Yes sir. Mom heard that and wondered about that and asked me 20 years later what that was all about and I told her the full story. She said that she did not understand what it was all about since she had just bought new tires for the car. 5AM we walked into the from being out all night. I was first Ron where were you at? A party. Jim were you at? my girl friends. Ken what were you doing in Warren? ( a town 50 miles away). I was road racing one night. the next morning Dad said to me ( It runs nice huh.) nothing more I knew I was busted. one night we were clocked at 150 mph buy the state police. We where not caught. later that day we were in a small restaurant playing pin-ball, a state police officer walked in and put his hands on the machine and said now I know who you are if I ever see you pulling a stunt like that again I will just tell your Dad. Interesting Mom said the state police never stopped by the farm.
The undertaker told me he had never seen a man with such calluses on his knees!!! think about it.

That was one hot car. Mom and Dad only had it 1 1/2 years. at 105,000 mile Olds gave them more than they paid for it to get it back.
