We’re supposed to have PM showers for the next 3 days but I want to set a new property for beaver. Does the rain affect it much especially this time of year? Most of my sets will be drowners or trapping the slide and cross overs.

Also this was my first year beaver trapping. Any do’s and fonts this time of year? Thanks.

I've always had good luck during rainy & dark conditions!

They seem to really move in the rain

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

The only problem is the water going up and down and keeping traps working. I don't set crossovers unless you want to catch otters this time of year. Dam breaks work well for footholds on slides or bait and lure sets.

No problem with a little rain trapping beaver here, unless it floods you out!! ( Like this late season a few times).

Jeremygranado,
You keep moving further south you will be down here in God's country b4 long....

Rainy days are much cooler toting that beaver gear down in the swamp...

Beaver always move during and right after a rain to refresh their territorial boundary markers, raise their ponds(dam work) and work on the lodge.
Make sure your traps are ready and your skinning knife sharp.
