I posted recently that I've joined a graduate program, MFA in writing popular fiction, at Stonecoast, the University of Southern Maine.
From a student organizer I recently got a questionnaire by email. The first question was, "What is your name and preferred pronouns?
So I wrote, "James Sarafin, I go by Jim."
It was an insufficient response. "Please give your preferred pronouns."
Say what? It's a writing program, so what the heck. I write using all pronouns: he, she, it; him, her, it; his, her, its. So I wrote, "All."
There was a pause for several hours for her (or was it a he or it?) to consult her LGBTQ+ dictionary, which, in her mind, must have qualified me as a P (polysexual?), part of the newly-discovered "+" in the term LGBTQ+--an actual term the younger people are using now.
She finally wrote back that they just to be sure of my preferred sexual identification.
Aha! I thought, they want to know what is my preferred sex to identify. Women, of course! And I'm the only man in a workshop of five women and a gay guy.
Just wait until I get to the other five questions.
Make a good impression everywhere you go, that's my motto.

But James..., You support the " party" that is in favor of these questions ( ideals) correct?

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

He would be my preferred pronoun. Here it is used in a sentence. He waved his magic wand and poof, unemployment was 3.6%.

I am still trying to determine the reason that your preferred pronoun would be important.
If its for communication with you your name and or the word You should suffice. If it is communication about you or your work your name would also be appropriate.
Also your and their sexual Preferences should have no bearing on the class and is irrelevant so need not be shared.
