I was wondering anyone has opened a locked vehicle using two cells phones and the clicker from a remote location??

^ ya, they say it does, but we tried it today, and it doesn't work. When you search for info on it there is mostly positive stuff saying it works and showing it works.

I have heard of it also but never tried it. Now I have OnStar and I can unlock, start or shut off the car from anyplace with cell service. Often thought of shutting it off while my wife was driving but decided I am smarter than that. Lol.
Wish I had more time to trap....

A screwdriver works better than a phone to open a car-and there is no monthly bill for a screwdriver.

Yup....On -Star ...has un locked my truck many times....as long as you have your cell phone in your pocket ...and not in the truck.

Scheide it is a real nice feature. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Still have to manually unlock and lock my doors to the truck with a key, don't mind it either. I can also use a key to lock or unlock but almost any vehicles bought in the last 20 years came with a remote clicker for opening and locking that outfit. I use the key also I don't carry the remote but if you lock your keys in the truck and don't have a key to open it, then you are up a creek. So if u have a cell this option is suppose to work. You could be 100's of miles away from the remote but would need a cell on both ends.

Saw a TV commerical last night where they used a phone app to unlock their Mercedes. I thought, cool if someone steals your phone they get your car too!

I'm thinking this is an urban legend. As far as I know, cell phone mics just pick up sound, not other signals, and the speaker just puts out sounds, not radio frequencies. Even if they could pick up a radio signal from your key fob, I gotta imagine that after being converted to a digital signal, sent from your phone to the tower, from the tower to the other phone, and converted back in to signal, it'd get lost in translation somewhere.
(And I just leave my doors unlocked, as long as there's no guns in the vehicle. The most valuable thing in there is a $20 dollar walmarr radio, and it's a stick so most thieves couldn't drive off with it if they wanted to.)

I can start my f150, turn on the heated seats, air conditioning, lock the doors, all thru my phone. It’s just an app thru Ford that lets me do it. It’s basically on star for Ford just in am app.
There is no try or try not, only a coyote in the trap or not.

It works on my 2001 dodge 2500 diesel. it also worked on my daughters ford focus, don't remember the year. I've tried it on some cars that it wont work on. What was the procedure/steps taken to open the locked Dodge? The process I seen was you have a person on line at the locked truck then the other person is on line and pushes the remote button next to the phone and it should open the outfit. Is that how you got it to work?
