Was on the move this weekend from the Desert to Pacific. Lots of fun but worn out.

Yea, a Soup Fin, teenager, dam thing kicked loose 4 or 5 times dragging him out of the water. Had to get wet to revive him, was not out of the water more than a few minutes either. Had a 50” bat ray on the sand also we were going to use for bait but to many tourists around taking video, would not do us fishermen any good slaughtering him in front of the tourists.

Yea got him in my deer zone at the salton sea, doing some land management, those yotes will never wear a winter coat, always mangy and kill the fawns.

That was my feeble attempt at a sarcastic response to grisseldog.

I've fished, hunted, camped most of the Sea JayRay. From your first pic it looks like you were on the East side of the Sea. Above Mecca maybe?

No sir. I sold my home in Orange county in '02. Yet I go back to visit family and a few friends a couple of times each year. A few live east of North Shore as well as near Bombay. We fished and hunted the Sea on a regular basis. Most often in the heat of summer or during duck season. Usually on the east side out of Bombay down to Red hill. The Coachella canal as it butts up to the Chocolate Mountains was always a productive hunting area. Coyotes and cats found the length of the canal bountiful. At least so when the canal still seeped downhill toward the Sea. It's been lined with concrete now to stem the water loss. Hunting and trapping beyond the canal drops toward the Chocolates worked out well. Albeit the area around Slab City to the east was dicey what with the Marine and Seal training that takes place. OK, rambled on enough. I miss the Sea. She was then as is now a pariah in the eyes of most SoCal urbanites.
