The male peafowl make a cry that sounds like a woman yelling help. They are loud, but don't call a lot. Most peafowl won't breed until they are 2. 3 year old to 8 year old birds breed best. They breed better if you have at least two males. The eggs, chicks, adults and feathers all sell reasonably well. Some people pay way to much for pretty adults, especially at auctions. I sold all of my adult peafowl earlier this year. I plan on purchasing about 20 peafowl chicks. You should try a few Brian. Keith

There pretty good eating as well I know a Mexican guy, who hatched 60 some peafowl last year, who ate most of them as young birds. He thinks they taste better than chickens. I have never eaten a peafowl. I prefer to sell them and purchase something else. In the Middle Ages, they used to carefully skin peacocks, cook them and serve them with the skins put back on. Knights frequently took oaths on the cooked peacocks. Keith
