I would say for footholds, urine to canine trappers is similar to castor for beaver trappers. You don't need it to catch the critter but it gives you more options.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I’m guilty of using it at every dirt hole, walk through, and scent post..I can honestly say I’ve never walked away from a set without using it and I use a lot of it at a dirt hole, even over my bedded trap area which is about 2x2 area..after reading the above comments I’m guessing this might not be the best..IDK..
Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes...... Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

I'm not a big urine fan unless Its from a single coyote per bottle. Andy weiser and Wayne Derrick is where I get mine. I had mix urine. I think its waste if money Can one explain how using urine from a single coyote makes a difference at a set? Does a coyote react differently when using urine from a single versus mixed urine from several coyotes? Im not calling Sleepy out, I just really don’t know...I have single urine but not sure why? Just because I guess..

Has anyone ever tried using their own pee? I'd love to know if that works LOL Yep, one time, ten feet from the set. Had to go. Two days later i caught a coyote.

I use more of it in spring when planting my garden. I squirt it on the fence posts and fill salt cellars with it to set around the perimeter. This is for DEER repellant. I'm not positive sure that it works but I sleep better at night..... I've got some ground to sell you here in Nebraska..... real cheap......deer around here love to come to urine.

I've done both, One season I used urine at half the locations and half I didn't. Seems I caught quicker at the locations where it was used. But to many factors at play to be conclusive. Now I use it at every location but not every set. Single male seems to crank the old dogs up but again to many factors at play to be conclusive. The territorial reaction can't be understated, just a dog being a dog. They just gotta overmark where another dog pees.... When urine is used for its intended purpose its priceless. It only takes a squirt!
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

Remakes all get urine, regardless of species caught.
Isn't there enough urine already in the catch circle? Serious question. I'm sure you catch more than me, I've just always figured that there was enough urine (and other animal smell) that adding urine would be a waste......
When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.
