I work at a small grocery store, now and then I'll find a good coin or old bill. Silver quarters and dimes are scarce these days.

The other day a girl, well young lady bought a $1 item with 50 cent pieces. She asked me if I'd even take them first. "Sure, I'll take them". One was a bicentennial, the other one was a 1977 from some kind of mint set. The eagle crest on the back is gold colored, it's pretty neat looking. It sounds like silver to me. Pretty coin.

I still get wheat pennies pretty regularly. One time we got 8 or 10 rolls of wheat pennies from the bank. These new $2 dollar bills, we deal with them often, and cash them at the bank for One's most times. Just getting change. Nobody want's a $2 bill. I do have a couple guys that will buy them now and then.

I took one coin the other day, I've got $1 in it. It's made like a Canadian $2 coin, a Tooney. But it's not. I can't make out any of the marks, it does have what I took for a 1. Otherwise, it's a mystery to me.

I've got a couple pieces of Canadian silver. And I'll find a Canadian Nickle once in a while.

The new gold colored $1 coins, I get a bunch of them. There are vending machines here in town that give them back as change. They're worthless too. I do have a girl that buys them for her vacation fund, she hoards them up till it's time to travel and then cashes them in for folding money.

You guys that know your coins, look at how pretty U.S. coins were from 100 years ago or more. They make today's currency look like junk.

I have a lot of old coin that I went through last winter. Nothing really rare but some have value. I do have a 1889 silver dollar mint CC which is the best one with the most value.

My favorite coin is an 1889 Dime, found it with my metal detector on Granddad's farm, that's the same year he was born.

I found a picture of my coin online. Do a search: 1 birr coin. That's it. Has a lion head on one side and scales on the other side. Looks like from Ethiopia. It's new to me. I have no idea what it's value might be? I've got $1 hard earned cash in the thing!

Here's a good place that tells you the value of your coins. https://www.greysheet.com/?fbclid=IwAR3SRvlRNXuWw8TyGSKsiRRuasbfzW17wqacMW93xCN2Gojqg_4vBJcLWBI click on US coins and it will bring up a list of all US coins and give you the value of them. It is pretty well spot on as far as prices.

Aren't coins like fur? They can put a value on them, but unless you have a buyer at the price of whoever values your coins, all you have are coins.
So how about some ideas on the best places to market coins?

Every 1964 and earlier quarter is worth around 3.50 in silver value alone right now. I think a 64 and early dime is at around 1.25 in silver value.

A silver quarter is worth $2.68 today, a dime is $1.07, half dollar $5.36.

Finding a buyer for silver coins is pretty easy.

Coins with numismatic values will take some legwork to see the best price.
Conflation.com is a great resource to see what melt value is at any given time.

That is a good site Steven. I have followed the prices for years using it!
