I have a retired friend who has worked part time at a kr store for several years has had no problems but recently they have changed their dress code and they have them wearing large aprons with the lbgt rainbow on the front. Seems kroger has become a big backer of the movement. He strongly opposes that life style and has talked to the people in charge about covering it up or not wearing it at all but no go. He is seriously thinking of just walking out . Just doesn't seem right to me. Any way what do you guys think ?
Kroger is apparently very into supporting LGBTQs and has been recognized for it. If you work at Krogers, it sounds like they will help you become the opposite sex, if you choose to.
I suspect most people don't care that Kroger supports alternative sexual orientations as long as Kroger is not to vocal and in your face about it's support.
He should talk with an employment lawyer a change to dress code that opposes your religions views may be a grounds for a change.
if the store had part of the confederate flag in it's uniform it would get it's pants sued off .
This is an excellent point,
Lockheed Martin - today - is having a huge gathering today - because they have decided to fly the pride flag next to the U.S. Flag at our plant.
It's gotten to the point where they want you to accept that Male and Female are no longer what a human being could be or is, how these are infact assigned to us - as opposed to our physical make up when we are born.
Funny enough, a co-worker remarked how many years from now, then the bodys are being dug up for some archelogical type thing - they will be identified as Male and Female and nothing else, because science and biology do not lie.
I'm hearing that soon it will be mandatory to have to take classes where we the employees and supervision too will be taught "the new way of being..." and I believe this will also be a sticking point with new hires.
So, as mentioned - suppose this goes against my religious beliefs [which it does] and everything I learned in school regarding biology and human anatomy [which it also does]
Then, I will have no choice but to walk, because my rights don't matter because of who and what I am [male, human species...]
Funny how that works, eh ??"
Nobody should ever be forced to believe something which goes about who they are, their traditions, and their moral values.

he is a protected class if he is a senior citizen.
when talking with the employment lawyer he should ask what the lawyer would be able to do if he was fired for wearing an american flag on his apron? depending on the answer he should get a big american flag patch and sew it over the image he doesn't identify with and let them fire him for it.
he could also sew a red point down triangle over the patch indicating he is a political prisoner of the pride flag and see how that goes.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
I think GCPete is on the right tack, get a lawyer then make them fire you and make that into a news worthy event. But for all I know the lawyers might all be on the other team.
You'll do what your told or you'll be fired. Unless you have a good union.
Talk about a guy who talks out both sides of his mouth at the same time.
On one hand , according to Boco, a bakery is in the wrong for not baking a cake for a gay wedding. On the other, he says,” Gotta do what your told .”
Well, he doesn’t have to do what he’s told . Especially in this case. They are making his choose their policy over his religious practices. Can’t do that, especially if the policy/practice didn’t exist at the time of hire.
Talk to an attorney.
