It looks very similar to a Hackberry Butterfly, but the spots don't seem distinct enough.

Butterflies will always have club shaped antina like that. Go to Butterflyandmoth.org and you can find a check list for your state and county. Lots of good pictures as well as info on the variety

We had one of those on our screen yesterday, and thought it was a moth.
One on Screen, can't load image direct

Our local butterfly expert relayed it is was a Red Admiral at rest,
Red Admiral Link
and from the above link, I can where if it drops it upper wings a little, hiding the reds, it matches up good.
