Randall Baker in Miss trapped the Otters for the Mo. restoration program with #11 SC's. No foot damage was a requirement, and he said he had very few pull outs.

Most of my SC 11's are the square pan, but I do have 2 dozen of the older style round pans. Anyone else have many round pans?
Nice to know that Big Bob. I think the Illinois otters came from Northern stock, but not for sure. One of the people who was really involved in illinois' program has retired, don't know how to contact him to get the whole story.

Just FYI, even though Sleepy Creek is done, their retail site is still operational and the disclaimer on there is that the site will still run until the last trap is sold. I just bought half a dozen #11 yesterday.

A double spring No.1LS foothold trap holds really well. I took a bunch of No.1 LS victor traps and added an extra spring for weight when trapping mink years ago.Caught and held a couple of incidental Otters in them. The added spring would ride up higher on the jaws when sprung, but that was never a problem, and actually likely helped to lock up the jaws. I think I still have a bunch of them in a garbage can full of footholds somewhere.

Years ago I seen some, beside myself on the old Victors just add another spring on the #1 LS to have #11 and works also. Just to give some ideas to who like to try to do it .
