Just a few people carry's fox hollow. I picked up a bunch at the nta. I like it alot. I dont know why more dealers dont carry it .A very good predator lurer.
I use mostly cavens bait. But I want to try Andy weiser horse meat bait. Maybe I can pick up some at the South Eastern meetting.

I like dobbins tri nitro early on, then cavens canine force and violator 7 when it gets cold. After the first of the yr ill start w that lesel guys coyote gland lure. I flat and bone pile set, im not digging any holes.

I like halseth stuff in my cat cages, ranchers friend is a good one, along w the cali cage.

We dont really use bait or urine.

We use rusty Johnson’s lures and well as a lure called kickback by jack hill. Also have a few of Mark June’s lures. We use bait from Rusty and some from Bruce Rhoads

Michael you are on to some fine lure/bait makers...add keg creek, dobbins, jim tate, fox hollow, caven and JC conner in there and you are golden

In my opinion, you cannot beat Derricks lures! Everyone of his baits and lures I have tried have produced coyote, and / or bobcat! www.derricks-nm.com

Prairie doggin is a bait/lure I make n works the best here. weiser and reuwsaats works but im really starting to love Kaatz bros and there prices.

Used locklears lures and baits for first time last year a d did really good with them. Other than his I use cavens and dobbins

I use weiser, Derricks and home made stuff. I think most people look for the best this or that but really you have got to find what brands suit your trapping style, for years I tried mark June's stuff and no matter how bad I wanted it to work it never did for me, same with a few others, one season I tried dobbins bait solution in tainted bobcat meat, it didn't work so when I called Andy weiser and Wayne Derrick and said I wanted a few baits and lures you pick em out and charge my card, I was shocked Andy sent me bobcat and horse meat bait I was excited for the horse meat and almost threw the bobcat bait in the garbage but i tried it, i couldn't catch a cold with the horse meat but the bobcat kept the traps full. It all depends on your critters and trapping style. With all that nonsense being said i believe that if you cant catch it on Wayne Derrick's 1080, it's not there. I have used the same 1 ounce bottle of 1080 for 3 years just seeing how small of a sniff I could get away with and it piles up critters with just enough to cover the tip of a toothpick.

I have some Dunlap. I like it too good stuff. I have tried bobcat base meat with not much luck. I dont know why. Before season I will have some horse meat base bait.

I didn't read through all the replies but when I used to foot trap k9's, Grahams lures were always a top choice of mine.

I have used some Graham lure. Only one I had luck with badlands Bob. I have some tomcat too. I am going to buy up carmans and few keg creek to try.

Has anybody ever used skunk essence for coyotes?

Just pure skunk essence? I dont see why it wouldnt work? In the winter time I use a lure called magnum marten that is very heavy on the skunk and I have good results on predators

Yes it will. I have caught skunks either a cat or coyote eat the skunks. I use Gusto gh11 hellfire or lightning on my sets in winter. All has it in tbem.

It's not just the skunk essence , the properties of the skunk carries other odors with it in the air currents. In other words the other ingredients in the lure attach on a molecular level to the essence. Skunk alone will attract but the combination of the skunk and the other material is way better in the coyotes opinion.

I truly believe each lure maker has a couple or more stand out great lures. I also think lure performance is regional, some just work best in the region they were developed. Location and sign trumps all. In my area of Michigan I like Lenons, Hawbaker, Carmens, Dunlap and Night Owl. For beaver I have many lures, and change up. I also cross specie lure often, ie: fox for coon, muskrat for coon, beaver for fox and coon ect...whatever gets me fur.

You are right about that. I have used John Graham tomcat and bad land Bob. All season I caught very little. And a few other brands. But everywhere I have used Gusto, gh11 voo doo and violator 7. I have good on them 4. I have to get more beaver lures. I am using back breaker, timber, build a dam, taos, Grawe beaver lure hawbaker beaver lure carman beaver lure. I going to get some sweetwater flattail, flattail gold, marsyada 501 beaver and Dunlap beaver lure. I should have some good ones them.

Keg Creek for predators and Dobbins for beaver.

Best lure is location, go where the critter will be with no lure, then I add something made by Asa or Cletis. Have a lifetime supply of stuff from each of them. If i ever take up water trapping I'll have to find out how their stuff works for beaver. Sometimes a bit of Backbreaker works on the dirt line so maybe Apple Road would be killer for beaver.
