I bought one of these to keep the birds and t flies away. Its a pain in the butt cleaning it out but at least caterpillars arent turning up missing everyday

I recently read that the survival rate of Monarch caterpillars is about 2%.
They came close to being put on the endangered list but the Feds decided it was a better idea to pay farmers to grow milkweed in enough places to help the butterflies out.
I have quite a few milkweeds here. Over this season I have seen 25 or 30 caterpillars but never saw one live long enough to make a butterfly. They have many predators which includes ants.

I heard 10%, in captivity maybe 90%

My first five died from parasitic wasp grub, I have two crystalis hanging, and three instars growing fast

Likely against Federal and State law to posses any part of a migratory song bird.

They are good for biting a triangle shaped notch out of the web of your hand when you have to catch one that is trapped in a chicken coop! Still carry the scar!

Mixed with spotted owl, the stew is excellent!!!!

Monarch caterpillars are great food for cardinals.
