So glad your mom was ok. BUT that may be why it exploded you have to STAND AND watch it every minute and decrease the heat if pressure starts to rise above safe levels



Depending on make there was at least one or more safety mechanisms that failed. It's important to know and check every part for proper function or condition prior to use. And as said monitored during use.

I’ve eaten a lot of canned moose meat in Newfoundland that was actually in metal cans, not jars. Anyone ever use this type of canner?

Elders in my family spoke of metal cans but I have no experience with them.

25 qts thick garden sauce done. Anyone want some romas come see me. Think my hands are suffering acid reflux lol.

About ten years ago I bought hundreds of regular lids from someone who manufactured and sold an outside porch light using jars and rings, thus he accumulated hundreds of lids. Think the wife still has some. Pretty sure I found them on EBay.
