It might be another doozy! LOL No problem, I'll just sit back, have another cup of joe, and weather the storm. I have heard from other weather sources to will be a rocky road this winter. https://www.almanac.com/old-farmers-almanac-2020-winter-forecast

I heard that it was gonna be another bad winter. I'm okay with that. Makes trapping a little tougher but I think most of us are up to the challenge. I'm ready for "a parade of snowstorms." Looks like the prediction on the map for the Northeast U.S. sounds like a few women I've dated.

^ LOL! Ya what ever, we can handle it. It will be just another day for us in the north. The national weather people won't even report if there is snow storm for us. Lol I like it that way, anyway.

Yep..That's how I feel..I don't pay much attention to weather people anymore..I use to and when they miss it really really bad..It used to cost me also in whatever it was that I had planned..Bob Dylan said it best "You don't need a weatherman to tell you which way the wind blows"..LOL

I have a gut feeling it's gonna be a humdinger. Gonna start with a early killing frost.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

You have to go by how big the muskrat houses are. That's what you look for. That will indicate the severity of the upcoming winter. My people have been doing this for thousands of years. Take a look around freeze up.

Take a look around freeze up. Or how far down it's feet a grouses feathers go it what I've always gone by. But the Farmer's Almanac is usually pretty consistent

Les I think you will need those ear flappers again this year. Lol We usually get a good frost about the 17th of Sept. give or take a week or so, but that is an average date for us. It usually is right close to the full moon in Sept..
I have observed and been told by the old timers to watch the wild fruit trees and see what kind of production they have had for the summer. The heavier the abundance of fruit means a though winter and that seems to have some consistency. Also the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) ants how active they are in building their homes.

We just had the hottest summer I can ever remember, and lately our weather pattern here in CT tends to be more on extremes - not moderate.... It stays summer like now well into October, then it cools down a little - but not really that much, but then just before Thanksgiving it will drop into the teens then suddenly rocket back up. Strange - it's like our seasons all start about 6 weeks late, and end about the same... 6 or 7 weeks late.
