Done lots of my own repairs and I'm with Newt on this one.. Good contact cement for loose sole is best bet in my book. Do it before you get it all messed up with dirt or other type glues. Mac

Barge rubber cement is the go to glue for glueing soles on, My grandfather was in the shoemaker supply biz and thats what every shoemaker used. Just follow directions on the can He's 100% correct

I use Quikrete Cement for my shoes. They are tailor made. It conforms to the foot.

Just follow directions on the can He's 100% correct This is true, however the cobbler would cut the sole loose, fix what caused the separation and then sew the welts back on. In reality completely rebuilding the shoe.
