I haven't put a tack on the 572. Most of the new huskys are 14,000 plus - that is what takes the life out of them. They are very similar in weight to the 562. I believe they have worked out the bugs over seas in the last couple years before the release here.

All I know is that I have cut with a lot of saws, and this is the fastest cutting stock saw I have used. Hopefully husky has improved on the crank bearings, those have been the week spot for years

I have a modified 372 & with an 8 pin sprocket it runs like a raped ape.When I heard the 372 was being discontinued I was planning on getting another and just keeping it in the box till needed and then have that one warmed up. It out cuts a buddies 461 Sthil.

Is the 572 dealer dependent, as in tuning software or updates or?
If so could you share about it.
If not, just a country boy myth?
If it tunes itself to temp and elevation, that's got to be good I'd think?

I know a dealer with a couple 372s new, I think $800 ish.

I've got way too many chainsaws. The two larger workhorses are a 385XP/28" and Dolmar 6400/20". Your 572 falls right in-between and could be a nice compromise to reduce my inventory. Maybe if ever one fails, I might consider a 572 given the time to prove itself.

It is an auto tune saw. You can not adjust anything, you can do a factory reset like the other auto tunes.

The program to plug into the saw is dealer only. We cannot even do adjustments, we can do software up dates, and resets. The nice thing is the fault codes, hour meter and other info like that. I can tell how much time you cut, and how much time the saw is idle.




i'm actually a bigger fan of the stihl M tronic program. It has more tools and capabilities. We can tune any of the older non Mtronic carb saws also. I have a MS 361 that I built, it was tuned with a tach and my ear first. I did a lot of cutting and was very happy with it. We ran it on the computer (about 15 minutes) it was a totally different saw.

Be interesting to know how your program reacts after the engine has been ported, compression increased, flywheel timing changed, and muffler altered. Or even running a different oil ratio.
I know those will void warrantee, I also know many of us don't care about said warrantee other than a backwards piston or loose components inside.

I am not a Husky guy and have always ran Stihls. How does this compare in size to my 066 or 660?

It is light and cuts like I suspect that fossil giant beaver used to.

Unfortunately, the thing has been rebuilt twice in its very short life. Scored cylinder both times. The dealer swears it was due to insufficient oil in the gas. Did not honor warrantee. $300plus both times. Funny thing is that I used the same mix in my 385xp with no problems.

I am still using it, and it cuts great, but triple checking the mix which I make way too "rich" out of fear.
