Is regular wax or paraffin wax better for waxing traps? I read that paraffin is softer melts at a lower temp but regular is more elastic and has better adhesive qualities.

Define regular??? Most wax is paraffin, aside from Beeswax. If you get it from a hobby store it's paraffin.

Add a marble sized piece of pine sap or other tree sap to your paraffin wax pot and it will help it adhere better. I do about a marble sized piece for 3 pounds of wax. Too much and it will be useless so be sparing. It also gives your wax a slight pine smell which is natural and doesn't hurt anything at all.
