The forecasters are calling for mountain snow and possibly valley snow this weekend, highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's. If it snows in Spokane it will be the first September snow since 1926! Yeehaw fall is here. We will be setting traps soon.

Supposed to snow here this weekend. I feel for the farmers, beet harvest hasn’t even got started yet.

Yep, they are calling for it. I have seen it already a few weeks back in higher elevations.

I thought most were raised in the Midwest I bet snow would pretty much ruin beets.

In all honesty Bob the snow really doesn't hurt the sugar beet at all what it will do is push the sugar content from the green tops into the beet it self freezing the ground solid will really throw them into a tail spin.

I'm with you Ted, on the first day of Fall it actually was the first day that felt like fall. Chill in the air, overcast skies, snow in the forecast. I'll be starting to get the coyote line out here really soon.

Had about 3 inches of snow at the higher elevation three days ago. Didn't last very long though.

Nice to see these reports on the weather from my MT and ID neighbors .

Looks like snow along most of the Rocky mtn front .

Was in the 20's last night , low 30's now.

Snow dusting the high peaks a wee bit, but several feet due to fall in the next few days in the NW, with several inches for the valleys.

Fall colours beginning to glow now, and with the snow in the high country, the gold tamaracks lining the slopes to treeline will just shine .

This first real snow depth will push elk and deer down to lower elevations , especially if it stays and adds more.

Time to get the fur hats and coats out and ready cool

Maybe that will chase the Elk into the Jackson area and make it easy to shoot one in about 10 days.

I have nothing clever to put here.

The main crop here locally is sugar beet. The beets will be fine, I just feel sorry for the farmers who are about to battle gumbo mud to get their crops out! I see a lot of trucks and tractors getting stuck when they get started. Its done nothing but rain here all month and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna quit anytime soon. Harvest is gonna be a nightmare

I saw 8 to18 inches above 3000 feet with the winds and I have to go to Seattle tomorrow to meet a new granddaughter. That is about the only thing that would get me over there. I hope they don't close the airport.

If you are flying out of GEG you should have a decent enough drive over there. Mind the wind, though. It can kick out on the flats .
