I lived most my life in Lacrosse ankle fit big chief hip boots. They don't last more than a season any more without patching with shoe goo. $140 now and made in China. I tested a pair of Cabelas boot for 30 or 40 bucks this summer and they preformed well and no leaks yet. They have some kind of plastic boot that is maybe 10 inches tall and the rest is pvc impregnated canvas (or something like that ). The brush has not tore up the tops, but I didn't run them through a bunch of thorns. There are cheap boots and there are cheap boots that are junk. These appear to be better than Prolines; at least the ones I'm familiar with. IMO getting a good hip boot that last more than a season is getting real tough.

I'm a little inaccurate. I found the box. I paid $56.77 on sale. Regular price was $ 74.99
Cabela's Three Forks Insulated Lug Sole
Don't know if they will dry rot over winter yet?

I have used the Lacross trapper for many years. Most last two seasons with a lot of patches. Are the new ones foreign made? are they junk?......jk

I have try patching hipboots with lot different ways, a tempory fix is all u get, once a leak, pretty well shot, someone say flex seal tape, I try aqua seal over top of it, flex tape, it last a day , the proline were a good cheaper rubber boot with lite insulation, lasted longer than more expensive brands, alot chesper brands are not rubber an or the PVC upper,

Prolines last as long as the expensive boots on my line, maybe it's just me. Nope same here. Just as soon go cheap and destroy my hip boots than go expensive.

Got a pair of Frogtogs that leaked the 3rd time I had them out last winter. Fleet Farm gave me a refund. Then I got a pair of LaCrosse boots at Cumberland’s. They’re heavy duty compared to the Frogtogs and I expect I’ll get a couple years out of them. I’ve had LaCrosse for years. Trying something cheap just proved you get what you pay for.

I had pair frog toggs for about $100 from farm fleet, rubber to around knee then polyester rubberized uppers, camo, tight on feet compare other boots, lasted about a season an seep around knees, or an seams, somewhere an can't patch, dont like frogg toggs, lol refund defective boots or espeacially thiesens. I just look at boots at thiesens to see what PVC upper is, as most boots go to it, no good for trapping, junk boots, they had PVC upper camo boots at thiesens store that look like a plastic look, Ithasca,,$90, not worth $20, not sure where going get boots
