Writing a book is a huge amount of work. Paul is a busy man. Yes I would certainly agree with that . My comments where meant in a way to imply that Charlie was very humble about his trapping skills And Paul is also a humble person where ever you mention his impact on trapping through Trapperman .Personally I would love to see more of Charlie's stories in print . But only if Paul would want to do the necessary work to see it happen I gathered the material yesterday. I just need to have someone put it in the proper format for the publisher. I wrote to Hal and asked if he would be willing. He did this for me in the past, but he's mostly retired now, so I don't know if he wants to take this on.

Awesome news, Paul! I'm sure Hal will step up, he doesn't suck as bad everyone says. He's just misunderstood by most, lol! Can't wait to buy one!

When I met Charlie back in 81 at a convention my light bulb went click. He took the time to explain trap mods that actually made a trap more efficient and techniques that were spot on. I wanted to take personal instructions from him but he was booked. He handed me his Land Trapping Book a couple years later and said this is my instructions in print if you have any question just write me a letter and ask. We became pen pals, I needed lots of answers. I wanted the why... not just the how... He gave me hints to force me to think for myself, and to listen to the animals themselves. I read that book till the pages wore out... Thanks Charlie, you da best!

Paul, If Hal is unable to help give me a call and my graphics department might be able to put it together for you. I enjoyed our brief visit in Missouri. He said he's not wanting to take up this project. I've been working on it myself. I've got the material in format using word. I talked with the publisher today and she said I need to put in PDF format with the X1A option. I can put it in PDF format, but I can't find the X1A option in my 2019 PDF Suite. I'll keep plugging away and see if I can figure it out.

Paul, I got PDF Pro 10 Creator, just a year ago and I checked all through it and can't find anything about X1A Option... I too would be interested in knowing something about this function … exactly what it is for and where or how to find it. I have some things I am getting ready to convert to PDF. Garry-

if you have the proper adobe software, it should be under Tools, Print and Producion, Preflight - which kicks open preflight
then there is a PDF/X compliance option, Convert to PDFxX-1a, Analyze and Fix - save as with a new name to make sure you don't overwrite the original.
you could try to print from word, using adobe PDF as the printer, selecting printer properties, then changing the default settings to PDF/X-1a:2001 - but if anyting is not X1a compliant, it will only kick back an error log

I met Charles Dobbins on multiple occasions at Pennsylvania conventions. I think the first book I purchased from him was "Adjustment of Leg Hold Traps". A convention or two later I purchased the book again as I told Mr. Dobbins I loaned my original book to someone and it was never returned and I forgot who I loaned it to. His reply was, "loan this one to someone." He had a great sense of humor.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I think it was a couple years ago when Paul put out some snippets of stories on here. I really liked them and loved the way they were written. They reminded me of the first time I read JRR Tolkien in the sense they draw you in so deep, that you feel as though your right there with them. I'd love to read more of them. What is already out there to read?

When Mr. Charles and Mr. Helfrich were on the road doing instruction they stayed at my place. All my Dobbins books were signed by Mr. Charles. Like Zim said I learned a lot from him.
