tool amperage largest is typically 15 amp that is what my Milwaukee claims to draw.
15amps x 120 volts = 1800 watts +10% to handle start up load =1980 so get a 2K or larger generator minimum
edited , I said minimum , the only time i have ever heard of too much generator was when it was a bear to move around and they needed it portable.

I have a 7k Honda and my table saw doing thick wood can make it work. Air compressors work it even harder.

Get the biggest you can afford. If there's an 8000 watt for $550.00 you won't go wrong later. It will run most of a house generally. You don't run everything in the house now do you?

Homeowners can often power most household appliances using between 3000 and 6500 watts. If you have a larger furnace and/or a well pump, you will likely need a 5000 to 6500 watt generator.
The modern home today can run easily on a 7000W generator. Power companies would install a 10K transformer for a modern middle class home, and in most cases the capacity of that transformer would never be used at an given time. If you went with a 7K or 7000W you would have the capacity to run 59 amps. You should absolutely have no problem running what you want to at your cabin.

Do you or have you run your home solely on generator? I do, I'm off grid. Your wrong. With a 7k generator the biggest Honda makes the gauges tell me it winds to full boost often around my place. I do not run like a full size home, washer, dryer, fridges, lights, well, hair dryers, microwaves on and on. Posco for your construction needs 4K or better. If you are going to rely on it for all 7k is too small. I am going to 15k diesel with a remote gas starter motor and at that I'm still thinking 20k before I pull the trigger. Osky

Bigger is better. You don't have to use it all but it's nice to have.

Use a Milwaukee skilsaw cordless with a 9 Amp battery. It will cut 2X10 's with ease. Buy about 3 spare batteries so you can charge them while you're using one of them. Pick a big generator so you have some capacity.

Pick a big generator so you have some capacity. The Milwaukee cordless compound miter saw is really incredible. I use Hilti because the batteries truly are unmatched, but the Milwaukee stuff is a close second. That mkter saw...one of my guys has one and it cuts all day on one battery.

a lot of variables in that question is your generator close to your panel or a long distance for noise. Most modern appliances and tools pull very little amperage once initially fired up! Only a few things pull constant amperage air compressors and any resistance heat and welders , battery chargers off the top of my head.. Bigger motors I recommend hard start kits they save the life of motors in low amp situations
LIVE LIFE LIKE THEIR IS NO TOMMORROW
