One of my favorite comments is when a reporter interviewed a woman about killing domestic animals for food. She said we don’t need to kill cows because I get my meat in supermarkets. What is your favorite(s)?

I told this story a couple months ago, but it's worth telling again. I was on vacation in santa fe new mexico and my wife and I went in to a store that sold expensive hats; one cowboy hat I picked up had a price tag of $800. They had a little display of how the hats were made, with a pile of fluffy stuff, a piece of felt, and shaped piece of felt, and a completed hat. I asked the clerk if their hats were made of beaver felt, and she excitedly told me that their hats were pure beaver. I told her I trap a few beaver, and joked that get paid 8 dollars per beaver, so I must be on the wrong side of the fur trade. She got all upset, and told me she hates to think of those poor critters in a trap suffering. She said that not more than 30 seconds after she proudly told me their hats were pure beaver.

The amount of times ive had to explain to people, not just animal rights activists but hunters and outdoorsmen, how it’s a flat out lie that coyotes chew their legs off to get out of traps....it’s astounding.

goose that is ridiculous, but I am not surprised at all.. Just like the folks who think meat only comes from the store
