Saw this bobcat coming down the power-line while bowhunting this morning so I was quick with my phone to take a video. He's smelling my mock scrape I made 2 days ago & then came within 4" of my ladderstand. As he was walking pass he looked back up at me, and then trotted off down the hill it was awesome.

Thanks for sharing that. Didnt take much sound for him to find you, crazy how keen their senses are. I have an old VCR video my uncle shot from his tree stand. A bobcat was chasing a squirrel up and down the tree next to him. That cat was just at home in the branches as it was on the ground. Incredibly fast climber and very nimble in the tree too. Was right on that squirrel's tail the whole time. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

A couple years ago on a very frosty and crunchy morning I was in my tree. I did a few bleeps every now and then. Suddenly I saw the ugliest golden lab I've ever seen. Was wondering which dang neighbor got their dog loose. My eyes focus and I realize its a cougar. I tried to slyly pull my phone out to take a photo. It got near the base of my tree, I looked at my phone, looked back at the cat and he was gone. I never heard a sound. Amazing.

Nice! After he smelled you at the base of the stand it didn't take much noise for him to figure it was best to leave the area, just whatever noise you made turning to get a better angle.
Eh...wot?
