Not sure but could be a process requirement ? I would guess its to hang it on a overhead conveyor to run it through a dip tank or robotic paint booth. Just a guess

I've driven hundreds upon hundreds of T posts. I've never seen one with a hole in it. I was thinking the same thing last night , I went out and grabbed one off the pile and sure enough the very first one I grabbed had a hole and an angled cut at the bottom. it was a newer green and white one. it may well just be the one brand unsure.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yip! I worked in the Fence Post section of US Steel in Duluth back in my college days. The posts were hung on overhead racks where they were pulled through the anchor stamping, paint booth/ovens and on to the bundling stations. I know of no other use for that hole, but, never thought about it until now.
Man who mistake shillelagh for fairy wand; see pixie dust, also.

Maybe something used during manufacturing of the post. Maybe a place to hang the post for paint or something like that. Interesting question to say the least.
