Someone told me it was legal in WI to fish with as many as 3 lines in the summer. Is that true?
In MN, it's only legal to use ONE line during the summer season. You can use two lines in the winter, though.

MN DNR doesn't make any sense with a lot of things. You can still only take your limit whether you're fishing with one line or 20 lines.
My wife and I mostly fish panfish in the summer. Quite often we get harassed by northern pike. It would be fun to fish panfish and throw a large minnow out on another line. But, that would be illegal! Ridiculous!
Someone said since the loon is the MN state bird, we should make the wood tick the state insect. Then we could call it the loon-a-tick state.

My kid moved to WI about 10 years ago. He tells me the fishing and deer hunting is sure a lot better in WI than it is MN.

In Mo, your allowed up to 33 HOOKS statewide, with a limit of 3 unlabeled poles, and 3 hooks per pole, EXCEPT on waters bordering Ill, where you can use 50 hooks. The purpose is to align Ill/Mo reg's to be the same so F&G from either state can check you, and of course write you a ticket. So that figures out to 11, 3 hook rigs statewide or 17, 3 hook rigs with one having only 2 hooks on the Mississippi. LOL Confused? You take address labels you get in the mail and stick one on your pole, cover it with clear packing tape for water proofing, and your good to go. I regularly fish with 8-10 poles.

I spoke with two different Conservation Officers from MN asking their opinion on more than one line while fishing. One said he had no problem with using two lines if it were legal. But, his job is to enforce whatever the law says. I thought that was a good answer.
The other CO I asked for his opinion said, If you give them two lines, they'll cheat and use three. I tend to disagree with him.
