It may not be fixed in a sense but if refs can not view, manage and accurately call a game due to size, speed and player training then in a way there is limited ability to actually keep the game on the up and up from a regulation aspect. Sure players work hard and many for decades but play design in many cases is about blocking schemes that clear wide outs be they legal, border line legal or not. The game has gone so much to passing that linemen now can not run block without holding. So that tells me they are not being selected or trained for those type of plays.

Put yourselves In the shoes of the officials. They are only seeing one angle of any play while the general public Is seeing 10 different angles of that same play. Then the net work singles out the best angle of that play. The ref doesn't have that option.
They have 22 players batting heads and they can't see It all from only one angle.

Correct, but they can call penalties to move teams in and out of scoring position. There are penalties during every play. If you could put a camera on every single player it would show that.

And instead of simplifying the game with less rules to be enforced, the NFL has done the opposite, piling on rule after rule that are in many cases are impossible to to call correctly even half the time. Then they are criticized for calling them and are criticized for not calling them. Officiating todays game is Mission Impossible!

And if anything crooked is being done to ensure certain outcomes, it is most likely financed by the big money sports bookies who have the most to gain from the correct outcome. It has happened before in amateur and professional sports.

To answer your question..... look at the Vikings, and tell me it's not fixed.

Look back to Brett Favre season.....
Look back at the superbowl when we were looking at homefeild advantage....

Back then I don't think it was going on like today. It's too bad Thurman Thomas' helmet was moved by the band member to cause him to miss the first few plays of the game.
