Watched a buck in my corn pile. He showed up after two doe visited it twice. The buck raised its right rear leg and put his noise against the hock gland. I dialed up the highest power on my scope to watch but couldn’t determine if he was licking his gland, trying to express it, or just admiring himself.

Anyone seen this before or know the reason,

I watched a small buck chasing a foe while hunting on Saturday. At one point, the doe stopped about 40 yards to my right and the buck stopped about 40 yards straight in front of me. She must've had enough and was staring him down. Neither deer moved more than a step or two for 5 minutes. During that 5 minutes, the small buck did exactly what you described 2 or 3 times. Didn't think much of it at the time so I didnt bother glassing him up to see what he was doing.

It is possible they just came out of the water and he was checking for shrinkage. You watch Seinfeld right?

I have nothing clever to put here.
