While working on my water pump I got to looking around and found a trail.

Would the number of scrapes be any indication of deer numbers?

Trail cam over a scrape recorded the pictures below, is it the same deer checking in at different times?

hard to tell for sure, but looks different to me - to deer looks chunkier
very similar racks - i suggest you shoot them both and let us know for sure

The vast majority of scrapes are worked by any and every deer that happens to walk by. The number of scrapes doesn't really indicate anything other than there were deer there at one point recently.
