I like that....I might have to use it. Primarily to keep people away.

I would agree that skunk smell attracts skunks and I noticed that with my tubes. I don't like having the smell in the tube because it eventually ends up on me. I wonder if the skunk/water mixture behind the set would have the same effect without getting on me or my stuff? Like having a call lure above the set, except this way I won't brush against it when I forget days later...

Guys up north use the same methods for Ditch lice that drive down the trapping trails. They take some of Barnes Magic Marten and smear it on a overhanging spruce bough, so when the ditch lice rub by it their FANCY snowmobile jacket is marked. When those boys walk in to have a drink in the bar heads turn...and they get turfed out.
Ditch lice are snowmobilers in the wrong spot
In the old days Terry Barnes use to dye his Marten magic blue

Iowa,
Neat video. Thanks. I'm having trouble picturing the 2x4 in front of the tube and a pan on the trap...I get the pan part..are they crawling over the 2x4

yes

The pan they are hitting with their chins
4 inches back from the trap is the 2x4 and their belly is supported by the 2 inches and the feet are on the ground not inside the jaw area ( which would create a blocking of the trap closing tight)

and if they go OFF the spray is on the 2x4..... save those they are always good to take to the conventions and sneak into someone's firewood pile so they become the most UN-popular pit stop. sick

So let me get this straight. The 2x4 is laying flat, 2 tall 4 wide? 3- 4 inches in front of pan, skunk crawls over and is set up for head catch?

I'd love to see how you put those dandy stinkers up?
Got a good outlet or are you shipping to FHA?

and the chin hits the pan ...and it's history.

If you cool the skinned skunk the flesh comes off quite easy.
