I'm sure it could catch a few of the trappers on here that eat those nasty things.

Not much touches my skinned yote pile out in the pasture, besides bugs, magpies, and crows.

I've heard both sides. Some throw skinned carcasses near their sets to draw other yotes toward the set

There is a market for yote meat
Exotic Meat Market. I can't sell them, to much red tape and hoop's to jump though.
Google it, some of you might be able to sell to them.

All I know is I’ve never seen anything eat them. Not even buzzards. So I’d bet against it.

Canine carcasses will draw in small mammals and birds.Ravens working carcasses are also a long distance call. The carcasses themselves also have an attraction as a scent lure to their own kind.Everything gets back into the food chain one way or another when recycled on the trapline.

I've found a single carcass in the close proximity of a snare station/area seems to draw other coyotes in. A bunch of carcasses in a good place can ruin it for years.

Some of you guys might be missing the boat on this one. Just saying. My opinion. There is a time and place when coyote parts and meat are just the ticket for catching other coyotes.

In the winter I used to throw carcasses on top of my wood shed. Birds would pick them clean. I never trapped coyotes, but another carcasses the birds seemed to ignore was otter. Beaver was rib eye steak to birds.

With the US so divided, I'm just glad to be on the side that believes in God, has the most guns, and knows which restroom to use.

I would be curious as to the time and place coyote meat shines as a bait if your willing to share. I love testing and compare formulations.

Delmar Kramer talks about using coyote meat for bait in his book. Not an easy book to get hold of, but well worth the price if you find one.

In general, I would suggest using it when they are not hitting conventional baits. Coyotes are always interested in other coyotes. Coyote parts or buried carcasses are often attractive to the other member of an adult pair. When you need to use gland lure, urine, droppings because coyotes are not responding to your typical offerings is the time to use it.

We are having a fall with a lot of food (persimmons) available. Game doesn't seem to be moving hard and gland lure seems to be working as well or better than prepared bait. One of the coyotes I got this week was on a buried coyote foot/ham set.

These presentations are not production line trapping techniques which is what fur trappers should be focused on. But, they do work and they do have a place.

Sometimes with canines you don't even have a chance to skin them before they wind up as bait.

Only birds eat them here, Bald and Golden Eagles too
if the carcass is whole with glads and feet, other coyotes will investigate

Critters are always hungry in the winter cold. They generate body heat from calories,so they are always eating. Most all are cannibals.Cats and wolves being the worst.

I did have a nice coyote eaten by what i assume another coyote in a snare few years back, or most of him. But they dont touch my skinned yote pile.

Del used coyote meat to trap coyotes, he would cut out a chunk of the ham put it in a plastic bag to taint. After a few days he would use the tainted meat at coyote sets. I think he had good success w it.
