Politics that involve trapping/guns have always been allowed. The fact that the country is embracing (and why) a party that seems to have no positive regard for guns or trapping seems relevant imo.

As far as Hispanics starting to vote towards the right, that is untrue. The only group of Hispanics who vote near 50/50 Rep/Dem are Cubans who fled Castro. Voting trends have always seen Hispanics going around 70/30 in favor of the dems. Some are looking at Texas being a swing state as soon as 2020,Virginia is going/gone blue,Florida is going more blue, the reason is immigrants. The country is going blue and it is because of immigrants, that is a fact not a controversial statement.

Kinda funny mostly dummies are immigrating. Doesn't say much good for the U.S.A. when we can only attract people who want to destroy the bill of rights. Free speech, free press, freedom of religion, right to be armed, all under attack by the D's. Immigrants used to come here in support of those ideals. What happened????????

The Democrats are speaking in Spanish during the primary, they know if Hispanics turn out they can flip Texas blue as soon as 2020. If you want more references I can supply you with stats to back up everything I have said just ask what you want to see more proof of.

With the current demographics there is almost no chance a Republican can win in 2024 in a presidential race. Several traditionally red states AZ,NM,CO,TX,FL will be very blue and sending democrat reps to Washington. By 2024 or 2028 for sure the race will be between socialist and socialist lite candidates. The supreme court will be majority liberal in 12 years and at that point the constitution is a living document meant to change with the times so dont plan on that protecting us and our rights any longer. The Dems are reaching out to the new immigrants by promising them free stuff, but the Dems don't really want them to ever get ahead or otherwise they may become tax paying citizens and stop voting Democrat. Some of these brownish folks are starting to figure it out.

What is the Republican party or conservatives doing to reach out to them? Nothing to not much.

I saw mentioned above that immigration used to be limited largely to western Europeans. Would you really want to go back to that? What percentage of western Europeans do you think are sympathetic to the animal rights movement versus people from Asia? Or would you be more comfortable with a white anti gun vegan immigrant than you would be with a brown gun loving meat eating immigrant?

There was plenty of East European Jews in New York prior to 1965. I'm listening to a book called City of Light- it's on the history of NYC.

If you read my post a little more carefully you'll see I'm not disputing that the majority of Hispanics vote Democrat. I'm just pointing out why they vote Democrat, and what we might be able to do to get them to change that habit.

What could be done to get Hispanics to vote right? Since the 60s they have voted roughly the same way 70/30 for the left, what could make them change that now?

Pride in themselves, faith that they will be treated as they deserve and success will make Hispanics vote Republican.

Success by what metric? Therein lies the problem. There will be inequality in a capitalist system and that system favors those who possess certain inheritable traits. Almost impossible not to kill this thread and go further than that.

Ya that must be it... I tend to rely on facts and science to shape my beliefs not personal anecdotes. For the past 70+ years Hispanics have voted 70/30 to the left and they did that as recently as the 2018 elections. I am sure they are about to change and become conservatives though.

It says No Politics, but Paul has clearly stated numerous times, that political discussions on gun control, trapping, hunting and fishing are permitted.

If you have been around here much and you have, you should realise that as long as other political discussions stay civil, they are generally allowed on Trapper Talk. You should of also noticed that the forum moderators frequently contribute to the other political discussions.

co and nm wont turn blue. they have been blue a long time. not because of immigration from a foreign country but immigration from california.
