Here’s a trap that I really like for multi species trapping and it’s all American made for the folks who care about that sort of thing. Really good fox trap and can be used from mink to coyote.

Victor #2 round jaw (OH)
#2 twist link USA chain
Sterling ST500 mid chain swivel (Sterling Fur Co.)
JC Conner Rod Swivel end swivel (OH)
Larry Finch trap tag (OH)
Dipped in Newt Sterling’s Formula One (not sure if that is made in USA or not)

Nice!

I’m thinking of switching to victor #2’s.

Duke was the name of my childhood dog and has nothing to do with trap brands.

That being said, I use lots and lots of Dukes. Love the new Duke 550 and use tons of Duke 1.75 offsets and #3 offsets. I added a few dozen #2 Victors to my arsenal because I have enough offsets traps and wanted a few regular jawed models that could double duty as mink traps. The Victor does not set as flat but is easier to set than the Dukes.

They really make a good fox trap. I’ve seen Phil Brown’s catches in them and was impressed how the feet look so I bought some and had the same results.

I'm surprised but will say, good for you. Also, you have something in common with John Wayne, that's alright.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

The Victor #2 is often overlooked by people purchasing that size trap. It just doesn't look as sexy as some other's apparently. OR "Built like a tank" ( I never understood that ridiculous comment). The Victor #2 is a great trap!

That was one of their best traps.

I am still planting these #2 in the ground, well not those pictured as someone else owns them I just stole there picture. All mine are awaiting paws currently. Mine were purchased brand new by my great grandpa, still catching fur over 50 years later. Only thing i have done is replaced chain, swivels, and put on double stake ends.

Nice catch Phil, I noticed you have some sort of a "blue bucket" on the back of your truck.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.
