take the cap off the engine and use a airhose on the tail pipe to blow it out of there.make sure the windows are rolled up so it can build pressure.

The oil pump that sits near the bottom of the deepest part of the oil pan most likely has a screen that will catch any bigger stuff that somehow gets in your oil. Nothing would probably happen unless you get a lot of trash on the screen and cut down your oil pressure. I have seen sludge in dirty engines stop them up. If your using good detergent oil it keeps the small particles in suspension and your oil filter takes that stuff out.

If you worry about your own work then take it to a quick oil change place, they make all kinds of blunders and you may never know. The most common mistakes that you will know about is when they put the wrong filter on or fail to get the old gasket off and put the new filter on top of it causing a bad leak. Or not tightening the oil plug and your wife drives it til its dry, lol. Just go by the philosophy what you don't know won't hurt you, but then again it may!

The foil will cause internal sparks.

Nothing will happen. The screen on the oil pump pickup tube will catch it. If you're really concerned, you can buy funnels that have a built in screen, or you can make your own by putting a piece of window screen in a funnel.

Coonman - did you read the instructions on removing the oil lid? Maybe you are supposed to use pliers to remove the foil instead of a screwdriver. Pull away instead of poke in......

They never used to have the scummy plastic foil junk under oil container. Have be extreme careful remove it, there was sign at work with pic of 1 clog fuel line, big piece plastic , at my 1 cleaner job

had a buddy squeeze a bottle of gear lube for 5 minutes before he realized there was a seal that needed removed.

it was about 10 degrees out,putting it in a skidder,i was cuttin for him.guy's 6'2-300 pounds and was sueezin hard enough i swear the veins were poppin in his neck.--looked right at me and says"if you ever tell anyone"--

My uncle did that once, except it was a bottle of ketchup at the Thanksgiving table. And the foil gave way.

Needless to say, there was a lot of ketchup all over the place.

A guy I know was changing oil and got a couple of the 1 gallon oil jugs. Don't remember which brand-doesn't matter. Someone bought the oil earlier, used it, put their old oil back in, surgically replaced the foil cover and returned them. He got his money back or oil replaced, I forget which. Im sorry, I just couldn't do that.
