Well this was upsetting. As a kid this was one of my favorite groups of hunters to watch with my dad. Always seemed like good people.

At the time he made the offer he probably believed in the offer, then things changed or sponsors faded away maybe making it unreal.

The moral of the story is they stepped in and went after the company and gave them 30 days to get things straightened with me and take care of my problem.

Two weeks later the problem was handled by a contact from one of the companies managers. The company then had to reply back to the FCC by the end of the 30 days. I received a copy of letter from company to FCC and then, I received an email from FCC asking me if I was satisfied with cooperation I got from the company and I replied yes. This is when I called the FCC to personally thank them. The said that is what they are there for. Any dealing or purchases, or fraud against you by mail, or email or internet falls under their jurisdiction.

S, I think in your case, I would contact the FCC and tell them you story, and you can also submit other evidence like emails, purchase receipts, or anything else pertinent to your case. Just google FederalTradeCommission.gov They also told me they when Someone makes a purchase or is paying for a service, originated, by internet or mail, they forward a copy of the complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.

I doesn't cost anything, except a little time and you may end up getting at some of your $200 back. That is what we pay their salaries for... and they seem to be one Federal agency that will cooperate with the general public.

I would do what this post say, Since the BBB already know about them.

Scamming is every where and works both ways as a buyer or seller... Unless you want to waste a whole bunch of time energy and good money to go after bad money just let it go consider $200 a lesson learned... I had a $400 bad check from a client, took to court filed this that fees.... bla bla went to court I WON YAY!!! Judge says to me. " this might give you a warm feeling knowing you're right but you're still not getting the $400"... What! True the laws are farted up....Never ever take an outside state check I knew better but the jerk put me in a fix take the check or an IOU, same worthless paper, never again, cash up front or be gone... Like my Dad used to say "In God we trust, the rest pay cash!"

I was a life member too. I did get some ok field tests, but yes they paired with scout then some knuckleheads bought it and now they only cater to the rich trophy hunters.

Can't say that I am surprised, they have had a pretty bad reputation around the bowhunting business for some time now. One of the things that comes up a lot is that they claim to be men of faith, but that only comes into play when they can use it to their advantage.

I think there is a particularly hot place reserved for people who try to use Christianity as a weapon or to scam people. Not saying that this is the case with the Fitzgeralds, but it has often looked that way.

Scout bought them out then went bankrupt.

I have just the opposite problem (if you want to call it that). Years ago I bought a life membership with the Minnesota Trappers Assn for $200, which it cost at that time. Since then the life membership has gone up considerably. I feel guilty because I keep getting the magazines and only paid $200. It doesn't seem fair to those who are buying a life membership at today's cost.

BOHICA !!!

Dan Fitzgerald is trash.

He approached me at the Harrisburg, PA. Eastern Sport Show about 20 years ago

and booked a three day trophy walleye fishing trip on Lake Ontario with lodging.

I asked him for a deposit to secure his dates and he put me off by saying

he would pay in cash upon arrival and do a video tape documentary of the whole trip.

Spoke with him three day prior to the dates and he was excited about coming.

Long story short--He never showed, never answered the phone when I called,

and I never got an explanation for his no show.

Saw him walking by my booth in a crowd a couple years later, and yelled his name.

When he saw me coming after him, he took off, and ran like the thief he was !!
