I don’t know if this thread is inspiring or disappointing...his one day totals beat my season totals.
One day I’m going to find ground that has coyotes in numbers.

Quick question about the initial blog posted, is it updated daily? Last blog I see is Dec 15.

He has been updating it most days. But when. Your running 16-20 hours a day, the trapping, skinning, hot meals and sleep sometime are more important than the post!

How I picture Robert one day in February. I’m quite a bit younger than him and can’t imagine how sore and tired he must be at the end of a day. Must be a tough SOB to grind it out all day then look at that pile of yotes at night and get to skinnin. Wonder what his caffeine and caloric intake are.

Myself and Robert dont always agree on things. But you cant knock a man with goals like that. I wish him well, he has the work ethic for it no doubt. Most probably couldnt carry his bucket for a day.

So are these 5 guys skinning every night or just selling on the carcass.

Phil Brown Is out west at a undisclosed location.

3 are skinning and 2 are selling on the carcass, IMO skinning the daily catch is the easiest part of catching big numbers

What is staggering to me is the coyote population of Kansas must be for multiple guys more than are mentioned on this thread that have killed hundreds in a short time frame in that state.
Population is impressive indeed.

Talking to Robert this morning and he's saying while the population Is super high It's actually down from other years. When that many guys kill that many coyotes It has to have some effect.

It's because the area of the state they are in is cattle feedlot after cattle feedlot. Those areas congregate large numbers of opportunity predators. If you can get permissions on the feedlots and the surrounding areas its money in the bank. Not all of Kansas is that way.

I just need to figure out how to convince my Kansas wheat farmers to switch their ground to feedlots. Then I too could be sitting on some honey holes. Hahaha

its not just feedlots but big dairies too. they all have dead piles. so if any 2000 head plus 24 hour milking dairies near you their dead pile will be just as good as any here in ks

I concur, not only that but coyotes follow live cattle also very closely. Ive always been a ranch kid/rancher and catch rates are always higher for me closer to cattle. Yotes follow them from pasture to pasture much like wolves follow migrations. Cattle are a constant chance of food for them, deads, aborts, they eat cow crap when times are tough. They also take advantage of me chopping ice to open water, lots caught around windmills for me. Just dont set traps with a cow watching, it becomes a issue like a kid in jr high that found a pack of smokes, everyone is there but nobody really knows what to do with one.

Lots of states this could be accomplished at, got a customer in Iowa that’s that’s about 50 behind Robert with about a 1 percent pitch rate, I know Roberts isn’t that good. More about the guy then the state
