Robert just called me and fired me as his fan club president.
He said he averaged 18 coyotes for 20 days. Not 20 coyotes for 28 days. Well when you get to be my age the first thing to go Is your mind.

Without a doubt, he'll be there.

Pulled today and headed home caught 14 coyotes today.

I think he said he needed 458 coyotes to hit his goal. He said with any luck and some good weather he may hit his goal.

When does he set again?

Well he said he may have to spend time to do Xmas. Most likely around the 26 or 27th. Maybe he will update his blog.

My arms would fall off just skinning what he caught. I sincerely hope he reaches his goal. Especially impressive with footholds on short checks.

He has some articles on the logistics of it all in Fur Takers Magazine. Very informational. A lot of stuff he does and plans for most never consider.

After reading his blog about all the preparations, I'm thinking that the generals that planned D day didn't have nothing over him.

Curious what are the latest numbers and where can I find the blog mentioned above?

He is home for Christmas, so the numbers will not be changing fofor a few days.

I think he needs something like 460 some to hit the 1000 mark. He said he hoped to be setting traps this coming Thursday. Will take him about 3 days to get the whole line In. Somewhere around 160 traps.

This is a fascinating thread and it keeps us captivated because no matter how many coyotes you do or don't catch in a day/week/month/season, Robert's goal is just pretty darn cool. In every aspect. Planning. Planning. Planning. Setting traps. Catches. Remakes. Keep rolling no matter. Weather. Skinning. Fatigue factor. Fatigue factor. Fatigue factor. Did I mention planning and fatigue factor?
All the other pieces of the 1,000 dog quest are squeezed between these two pieces and Robert is the planner extraordinaire and I guess he just won't lay down and nap a while.
I sat around a camp fire once with he and many others and it was crazy cool listening to his "planning" for things he'll never do! I can only imagine when he sets his mind to something!
