That video was incredible! The numbers of hogs were unbelievable. Some hogs were simply run over. I pray that they get them under control because if not already, this will soon be an issue with national consequences. I recently read in an agricultural publication about a farmer who planted a couple fields that were very small in terms of Texas fields - only about 10 acres each. He planted corn using a large planter, so was in and out quickly. He monitored the fields. Within 24 hours both fields had been cleaned out by hogs. They walked down the rows and ate every kernel. It sounds like if unchecked, this could reach the magnitude of Biblical plagues.

A friend of mine goes to TX every year to shoot hogs. Where he hunts the rancher charges him and his buddies $100 a hog. He said they like eating them and don't shoot the larger boars. I can sort of see charging something for them, but if they're a serious problem, a $100 seems a little steep for me. He's asked me to go with sometime, but I can't see paying that kind of money for a wild hog.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

$100 is a very good price. I know ranchers who charge $500 and up. My friend catches them, cut's the boars and sells them to high fence ranches. The land in Texas is private, so anytime someone comes to your property your taking a big risk of getting sued. It's the world we live in today. The other thing ,is hunting them with a gun does little good. We carry guns in our tractors, truck and wherever we go and does very little to control them. I bet she had a heart attack, and the pigs just found her.
Not according to the medical examiner's report. "Exsanguination due to feral hog assault" or something like that. Exsanguination means blood loss due to the trauma. If she was dead from a heart attack she wouldn't have bled out when they started eating her. Wrong place, wrong time. Said it was right around dusk. Just a terrible way to go. It looks like the hogs did her in but I wonder if they knocked her down or if she tripped and then they had at her?

I wonder if they said that said you have to be a registered game farm to charge people to hunt hogs and then said you have to report all hog kills as a registered game farm.
as long as people cam make money off their neighbors crop damage it would be hard to see how this ever gets corrected.
I have heard bounties don't work , but not sure why , if there was a buck to be made killing hogs you would think there would be people chasing them . let land owner collect the bounty for hogs shot on their land turn in the head frozen to collect

We used to throw carcasses of coyote, coon, possum and fox it the hog lot after skinning. The next morning the only thing left was the colons. I still have nightmares about the sound of the skulls being being crushed in total darkness. The lady could have had cardiac arrest and still bleed from the bites. post-mortum wounds bleed different , they can bleed but the blood doesn't pump out , if they saw splatter and pooling consistent with arterial bleeding she was alive at least for a bit.

Exactly! Don't any of you fools ever watch Criminal minds or the CSI shows?
The women CSI's in Las Vegas can tell you what kind of bubble gum a killer chewed when he was only 10 yrs old, and the BAU can tell you what kind of deodorant the killer will buy next week even B4 the victim's body has become rigid! Oh, and if the state of Texas would just hire that little pencil neck Horatio Cane to thin the hogs down the survivors would swim the Rio Grande and learn to speak Espanola.
Trust me, they know whether she was dead or alive when the hogs took to her flesh .

That film almost looks like shooting rats in the Secaucas Dumps around Newark NJ when I was a kid. There were hundreds of them and 30 or 40 people shooting......jk
