GOA=Gun Owners of America. They're the ones fighting the bumpstock ban. You know, the one that Donald Trump instituted and the NRA supported. Oh no, more truth and facts, what should we do lol.

Bushwhack jack the nra has not only supported every federal gun control law on the books today, they still support them. The NRA also wrote a few in their entirety and co-wrote the rest of them. Due a little research. The NRA is not your friend.

Apparently, you are living up to your disclaimer. You sound like you are drunk and you are not making any sense. What's the GOA? Governor of Alaska? Alabama? How is the NRA a part of the problem? What are you doing to be a part of the solution?
Dude, if you are this uninformed I don't think you even qualify to post in this thread. Talk about foot in mouth disease

Are you giving credit to the gun control specialist NRA, instead of the Senators knowing what their constituents want? Why don't you answer danny's question hippie? What major gun control has happened that they weren't a part of? Who do you think is primarily responsible for helping getting the right senators elected that favor the 2nd amendment? You guys who think the NRA is in favor of gun control are smoking some crazy crack or something. In fact, I wouldn't doubt that you guys are really some crazy internet trolls trying to confuse the ignorant and gullible people who read these threads. Don't be misled by these crazy wack jobs people. The NRA is never in favor of gun control legislation. And they work hard to get elected officials into office who fight for your second amendment rights. That, and they have lawyers who are working really hard at fighting any and all anti-2nd amendment threats that violate our 2nd amendment rights. I wish these crazy wack jobs would start providing some real evidence of all their false accusations instead of spreading their lies to gullible people. https://time.com/4431356/nra-gun-control-history/TIME magazine is a liberal hack rag. But it's the first link I found when I googled "NRA record of gun control." And though it's a rag written by liberal hacks, the facts are verifiable... Until the 70's the NRA was heavily involved in the restriction of 2A rights. They may have woken up in the 70's and decided to take the stance that "enough is enough" concerning gun control legislation... But they sure haven't done a thing to roll back any of their previous handiwork. In fact, they seem to be just fine with the status quo. I have a feeling if everyone notified the NRA that they would not be sending another dime to them until they adopted the same stance as the GOA and 2AF then things might move in the Constitutional direction... But since folks are still stuck in the "daddy was an NRA member, and his daddy before him" mindset, it won't happen. If you're happy with the current levels of infringement, keep sending money to the NRA. Otherwise support one of the other organizations who takes "shall not be infringed" seriously. Mike

Very well said. You nailed two of the biggest problems that the NRA supporters can't get past. Daddy did it and I have for all these years and if your happy with the infringements. Most do it cause that's what they do because their family did it, and, they don't take the time to look at how the NRA has been a part of gun control and loss of our 2nd rights from the get go. The NRA was not established to protect the 2nd but there supporters think that and keep tearing away our 2nd. It's puzzling to me that there are that many people out there who actually think they're helping.

The Virginia NG consists of around 7500 people in all positions. If things do kick of, they would not have a snowballs chance in a hot place. Given that not all of the 7500 are actually going to break their oath and stand with the so called governor. If they start early in the day, it should all be over for lunch.

Didn't Virginia's State Government learn anything at all from the Civil War ? w I'm not for sure government ever learns anything. Its only a machine. I'm not for sure if the people learned it new or still have some old store, but seems the people know to hang on to their guns and keep their powder dry!

GOA = Gun Owners of America a huge pro-2nd lobbying group.
HUGE, Fin ? Not saying you are inaccurate in your characterization but what evidence is there that GOA are a large membership 2nd amendment group ? Last I knew while speaking with GOA organizers, their membership numbers were unknown and a closely guarded secret. Do you have any hard data that they have a substantial membership ? w

I am a GOA member and that alone makes them huge Ya got anymore questions on that Walleyed ?? As far as I am aware GOA is the largest pro 2A organization in the country as I don't count " club compromise " ( NRA ) as pro 2A.

Thanks for the clarification. I have heard of the Gun Owners of America. I'm sure they are a good organization, but explain to me how they are supposedly the saviors of the Universe, when hardly anybody has heard of them, or anything they have done, and the NRA has spent fortunes on helping protect the second amendment.
I will assume you remember the Heller decision in 2008 and the McDonald decision in 2010 Heller was brought to SCOTUS by GOA and McDonald by SAF ( Second Amendment Foundation) NRA did file an amicus brief ..............eventually...........supporting GOA. Here's a bit of the history from that time. National Rifle Association (NRA)"Attorney Alan Gura, in a 2003 filing, used the term "sham litigation" to describe the NRA's attempts to have Parker (aka Heller) consolidated with its own case challenging the D.C. law. Gura also stated that "the NRA was adamant about not wanting the Supreme Court to hear the case".[55] These concerns were based on NRA lawyers' assessment that the justices at the time the case was filed might reach an unfavorable decision.[56] Cato Institute senior fellow Robert Levy, co-counsel to the Parker plaintiffs, has stated that the Parker plaintiffs "faced repeated attempts by the NRA to derail the litigation."[57] He also stated that "The N.R.A.’s interference in this process set us back and almost killed the case. It was a very acrimonious relationship."[6] Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's chief executive officer, confirmed the NRA's misgivings. "There was a real dispute on our side among the constitutional scholars about whether there was a majority of justices on the Supreme Court who would support the Constitution as written," Mr. LaPierre said.[6] Both Levy and LaPierre said the NRA and Mr. Levy's team were now on good terms.[6] Elaine McArdle wrote in the Harvard Law Bulletin: "If Parker is the long-awaited "clean" case, one reason may be that proponents of the individual-rights view of the Second Amendment – including the National Rifle Association, which filed an amicus brief in the case – have learned from earlier defeats, and crafted strategies to maximize the chances of Supreme Court review." The NRA did eventually support the litigation by filing an amicus brief with the Court arguing that the plaintiffs in Parker had standing to sue and that the D.C. ban was unconstitutional under the Second Amendment.[58] Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, had indicated support of federal legislation which would repeal the D.C. gun ban. Opponents of the legislation argued that this would have rendered the Parker case moot, and would have effectively eliminated the possibility that the case would be heard by the Supreme Court.[59] Immediately after the Supreme Court's ruling, the NRA filed a lawsuit against the city of Chicago over its handgun ban, followed the next day by a lawsuit against the city of San Francisco over its ban of handguns in public housing.[60]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_v._Heller It's Wiki so you have to be suspicious of everything they produce, but it's a place to start
