The right distance 50+ yards away . No full metal jacket ammo whatsoever.

April 2017 or so, I decided I was going to build a gong out of plate and rebar to shoot from my porch. A 308 Win bullet somehow shed its jacket, somehow had enough energy to return 75 yards, somehow missed me, and finally stuck into the frame of my front door. To say my eyes were opened would be an understatement. I’m going to leave metal gong making to professionals that have the legal protections (LLC, Insurance, etc) required for selling such things.

I’ll post pictures when I get a chance. I wouldn’t have believed it could happen if it hadn’t happened to me!

I do believe that angle would change everything, but I’m in no hurry to risk a lawsuit building something like that for someone else and crossing my fingers that everything goes perfectly for them. It only takes once to ruin everything

Good luck

I nailed a wet oak board that was swelled up on the end of a log once. Shot with a little Stevens at about 30 ft. and it bounced back and hit me on my leather boot.
Liability is a big deal these days.

Wolfie, just write "wind chime" on the invoice.
You cant be responsible if someone uses your windchimes as target practice.
