When talking to him he hasn't mentioned anything about Incidental catches. He did say he had caught 1 cat. The area he Is moving to Mon is more cat country. I'll ask about the incidental catches.

He keeps the coons and skunks he catches. Has a use for or sells everything he can. Just got home frome out there last night, and talk to Robert pretty often, It was funny, I got permission on a feedlot right close to where I was trapping, and talked to Robert, he said he got permission on that lot back in Sept! I said, WTH, don't those guys remember anything? Robert said it wasn't the first time that happened. I told him, have at it. I wouldn't want that done to me, and I wasn't gonna do that to anyone else! Talked to him yesterday, said he was moving there Monday. Lots of mange there though. That is the same lot where BW had that pic of 12 or more yotes in the same pic! I've always trapped the pastures and ag land, but understand better why these guys are concentrating on the lots! lol

Update.
15 coyotes today and one badger. One coyote had mange. 618
Robert Isn't trapping any feed lots or dead piles In this area.
He runs a heavy pan tension so Incidental's are not that common. He said he had one skunk and only 2 coon and that badger.
The land he's heading for on Monday has a better cat population so he will be skinning some cats.
If things go south he will head Into NM and since that would be during the fur season those coyotes will count . His ADC work In NM Is in March.
He also has a very lucrative taxidermy connection. Some of those coyotes with mange are useable as long as the head and ears are Ok. Skin them down to the shoulders and cut off the head with an axe. Some of those heads are worth $40.00.

Man, I'd love to see someone do a ride along video for a day. Probably just slow him down though. Hope he hits his mark.

Trapping them, I’m down. Skinning 1,000 or even 1 of them; I’m throwing in the towel. Roberts king Roberts king. Touching one with mange. I need a shower as I’m freaking out just thinking about it. OCD germ-a-fobe here. Healthy and happy new year, have fun and hope you meet your goal.

Almost sounds like someone’s a little jealous . Just my take on it. Are you refering to me? I hope not, Robert is a friend and a real trapper! Only thing that I could be a bit jealous of would be his youth and drive! And I think every trapper on this forum could say that! Just my take on it!! Robert and I have had this conversation. I do not want to skin more than 5-6 yotes a day, my hands are shot, bone on bone. I told him, another twenty years you will be my age, and won't be interested in skinning that many either! I think he understands, even if you don't!

Hey Lee how does It feel being OLD and all USED up. Join the club buddy.
Robert does have some permissions In NM where he could go for the fur trapping season he also mentioned the National Grasslands.
He will have to take break from trapping just before Super Bowl Sunday to get around 500 coon delivered. I call him the coon Pimp. LOL

Roberts a great guy but he doesn't pay well LOL In fact he inherited some of that coon market from me. You can make a buck or 2 If you get big enough.

Your the senior here, I doubt there are but a couple on the forum older than you! How are your hands? Guess I didn't take good enough care of them when I was a pup! Yep, the coon pimp will be on the road again! He told me yesterday that he was moving to that feedlot that I mentioned. Oh well, just catch the yotes, too many people here want to argue over all the details. Gettum Robert!

Good luck with the reliable, 08! I've tried the hired skinner route in the past, and about the time they get past cutting holes and big eyeing all yer stuff, they're ready to do something else. Never had one last through a season! Truer words were never spoken !!! w

Your profit margin takes a huge hit when you start hiring help. And when your out In the field where do you house your help? And that help Is sitting around all day until you show up with catch.
Lee my knees are keeping me from getting much trapping done. And I'm to much of a candy arse to get them worked on. But I may have to get It done.
