...this year?

If so, just wondering how the experience was?

The last time I sold over in Bridgewater, old man Fluth was still running M&M Fur multiple decades ago. Bridgewater used to be (at least 2013 through last year) the last stop on the SD NAFA pick up route. I'm assuming Potter sold a good amount through NAFA. Just curious what their offers are? They wouldn't answer a FB message in November.

Yeah, I guess I should have looked at the Potter FB page a bit closer. The last post was Feb 2, 2019. You might be right Law Dog

Hydropillar- Have you sold or know anyone who has sold to Beadle this year? They do have a FB page, with basically 1 photo on it, no info about routes.

I've sold to Peterson Fur in the past and checked on what he was offering for rats back in November. I'm sure he is up to his eyeballs busy in getting people's fur ready to go to FHA.

I know he wasn't going to run a route this year. He told me to call in advance if I was coming up.

I think Kim is buying, just not running any routes. He’s always treated me well, in the past he laid out the coon and sorted, never saw him take a coon and put it in a lower pile, only went higher. He was always on par or better with what i saw Groenwold was paying for averages on carcass coon.
I believe it was Beadle one time who was in Sioux Falls at Garys Gun Shop when I lived there. I dont know if it was the owner or who it was, but the guy was flat out rude to people.

Peterson Furs will be here in Pukwana on Jan 9th at 9:45 to do a FTA pick up stop and to buy fur also. If you need directions let me know.

I think most if not all his stuff went to nafa. I sent kim a text the first week of November and asked he was buying coons. He said if he does it wont be until December, because there is no market. I assumed that means he has no interest in coon.

Thanks Prn!!

Its sort of ironic because there was a newspaper article on the Potter company a couple of years back (can't remember if it was the Argus or maybe the Mitchell Republic (right name?) and he was saying that coon were their "bread and butter". Times have a changed. Sad.

Thanks stumper for the offer. Right now I'm pretty furless. Its supposed to get colder this coming week so maybe that will motivate me a bit. Winter mud is no fun...

They piggy backed that article with the introduction of Noem’s plan to save SD with 10 dollar coon. Irony...

I would that we had a Governor Noem to save Minnesota, and we have bounties on pocket gophers.

DWC- The legislative session is going to start soon and I wonder if the bounty program comes up in committee and what kind of criticism it will get? Given Gov Kristi's "tighten the belt" budget speech a little while ago, I doubt it will get renewed but who knows. A Hamilton for a tail, $2-4 more for a cleaned up skull, and maybe a nice shoulder/head cape (I should renew my long extinct state taxi license just to do peek-a-boo coon head mounts out of knot holes), the bounty program sounds like less work than finishing a coon for buyers who really don't want them. Still, I hate to see a 4xl decent color coon dead in a coni in May or June with all the flies buzzing around them. Now, If I could eliminate most of the 5 color gene pool coon around here by doing the bounty, sign me up!

I doubt they will announce it ahead of time if they even have it to avoid tail saving by folks and Tru-Catch Is still trying to catch up on cages the last I seen they were months behind on orders.

I never did the tail thing. What are people doing with the carcasses? Assuming just leaving them lay. Isnt that wanton waste? Can i go dump a hundred carcasses in the ditch after skinning? Because i paid to dispose if them at the dump.

Huge burn pile at a place I trap is where mine went and a few I picked up in the ditches that the local poachers tossed where all could see them. I don’t think wanton waste applies to vermin listed critters.
