danny clifton "Grumpy Old Man" D Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 29,890 williamsburg ks	real dry conditions give a trailing dog more trouble than wet. those curs can track bobcats. a scent that takes a cold nose. even pups will trail up deer. deer that are not bleeding. they do give off a lot of scent. same with a bear. So why do all those bear dogs from Virginia,West Virginia and North Carolina have so much trouble treeing bear here in Maine.I will tell you water.Real water not those rocky little streams like down there.
